Pink Argyle began in November of 2007 when Andrea looked at Barb and mused, "wouldn't it be fun to do a knitting website together?"
Barb (aka Mom): Seriously? ... *pause* ... This is so strange, Andrea. It just happens that I registered a domain name the day before yesterday. Pink Argyle. We could use that??
Andrea: We're having a moment of cosmic convergence here! Weird. [She really does talk like that sometimes.]
*pause*
B: I hadn't really figured out what to do with it, but the name just entered my head, and stuck there, so I registered it.
A: Pink Argyle? Why Pink Argyle?
B: I don't know ... I just liked the sound of it, I guess. Would you want to use that? I know pink isn't your favorite color ... it's not mine either but I liked the sound of it. Strange, huh? The juxtaposition with argyle I think is what intrigued me.
A: Sure, it's okay. Let's use it as long as you have it. It's growing on me. I can work with that. [She can work with anything.]
So that's how Pink Argyle came about.
Andrea is the (web) designer behind it, and hopefully the two of us can keep this going and make it interesting for others as well as fun for ourselves.
There's another daughter, who is currently in graduate school and too busy to let herself get very involved in this adventure. The three of us have been knitting (and doing various other sorts of crafting) since they were little girls. Even if Steph won't be very involved in the beginning, I'm sure you'll hear about her in our posts, and maybe even hear from her from time to time in comments.
For us, knitting is indeed a hereditary disease.
