Provisional Cast On

Here's a very nice, simple video of what may be the easiest ever provisional cast on. It uses both a crochet hook and a knitting needle, plus, of course, the contrasting yarn. No more poking around in a chain trying to find the right crocheted loop to pick up. I may never do any other kind!

Ooooh, I LOVE that method, too. I learned it about a year ago, and I haven't done any other method since. Quick and easy!

So clever! I am definitely going to try this next time I have to do a provisional cast on.

Oh, thanks! I was supposed to do this for a shawl I'm making right now and I chickened out. Of course now I'm on row one-thousand-and-eleven or something!

Thanks for such any easy explanation. I will try this on my next BSJ.
